“I broke the curse?”

elizabeth—swann:

Liz stared at him in confusion. Damn these pirates and their curses. Regardless, it was something to worry about later. A few introductions were in order.
“Come here,” She moved away from Will, taking his hand and walking back towards Len and Pepper. “The one bent over into the barrel would be Len, and the only other sane one on this little extravaganza would be Pepper.”

Feeling his innards were content and his throat on fire, Len picked himself up and grimaced at the mess he made. Peeking into the barrel a bit more he realized that no, the barrel wasn’t empty at all. It held what looked like a pistol (he wasn’t too sure since it was quite dark) and what looked like to be a bit of food that someone had stored inside.

Whoops.

Spitting into the barrel, the man turned and was somewhat amused to find that another man had joined their group. He wasn’t too sure where he came from but if he was joining in then he was more amused at the fact that they were picking up crew mates left and right like a brothel picks up staggering men. However, he could also be just a drunk trying to get into Elizabeth’s core—

No.

Ohhh, no. Bro stepped in the wrong neighborhood harbor.

“Ayea, wha’ tha’ bloke there on ya arm, Liz?” Len spat to the side, attempting to remove the taste of vomit and stale drink out of his mouth, “seems fishy. Want me ta get ‘im off ya? This ain’t the safest place ta go ‘round with strange men suddenly hangin’ off ya arm,” the man nearly growled the last bit as he stared suspiciously at Will.

Then what shall we die for?: Tortuga

elizabeth—swann:

The last Elizabeth had seen Jack and Barbossa together was the malestrom battle where they had seem to be getting along just fine. Well, as fine as two men who betrayed each other could get. Jack’s reaction to hide from the elder captain puzzled her a tad. However, she reasoned that it had been a…

Mouth agape, the man watched as the haggard old captain walked.  He wasn’t sure who he was yet but his appearance commanded authority and his person demanded respect.  Len’d never encountered someone like him before and wasn’t sure if he should have been irritated, in awe or fearful of his attitude towards Jack.  The right answer would have been a neutral response and to roll his eyes but having just seen the man for the first time in his life and not knowing the history behind Jack and Barbossa his feelings were mixed.

Taking Pep by his side and squeezing her shoulder then pointing at Barbossa he yelled out towards Jack, “aye, ya tha’ man looks more like a captain than ya do! Bet ya he could command an armada and beat down some Spaniards all within a day!” Suddenly feeling the pit of his stomach churn, he let go Pep, made way for a nearby barrel and released the nights worth of drink straight into it.

Then what shall we die for?: Being yanked away from Len, Elizabeth stumbled slightly.

She sighed and crossed her arms, looking to Pepper from behind Jack, offering a small smile. God only knew what she thought of this entire situation. Though she was pleased to hear her accept Jack’s invitation. It’d be nice to have another, decent woman aboard for company.

The spat between Jack…

Growling, he scoffed at the idea of finding treasure. That’s what everyone’s main goal seemed to be on almost every ship he boarded. Len? No treasure, he just wanted the thrill of adventure, that was all, “what be St. Elmo’s Fire? Please don’t tell me that it’s somethin’ like tha Fountain o’ Youth or the city of gold. Ya know how many tales are spun about them places?”

“Tis a light.” Jack said. “A Light that bestows great luck and blessings of those who’ve seen it. An if we managed to catch it, why we’ll be the most fearsome pirates on all the sea!” He grinned, jerking his arms upwards for emphasis. “Not like I’m lettin you come along anyway.” He turned on his heel and began to march off, sure that they would follow.

“A light ‘e says,” the man scoffs and gently pulls Pep alongside him (and uses her for a bit of support since he was still walking off all of the ale he had earlier) and begins following the ragged man and Lizzy, “a’sides, I don’t need yer approval, I just need Miss Elizabeth’s here,” Len states, putting a hand on Lizzys shoulder as they walked, “seein’ as it looks like she could take on five full grown men on ‘er own while ya could take,” pausing, he briefly looked Jack up and down, “a child in yer drunken state.

“‘ASIDE! What would ya even do wit such a ‘miracle’ light? Aside from bein’ the most ‘powerful pirate’ in all the seas,” Len chuckled at the last bit.

Cuttlefish: Liz looked Len up and down.

“You don’t look like much yourself.” She muttered under her breath.
She rolled her eyes and looked to Jack. “Unless you plan on spending the rest of your days here,” She glanced back to the tavern where the sounds of yet another fight sounded. “I suggest you learn to…

Well that lifted a huge weight off of her shoulders. Liz managed a brief grin before Jack waltzed over. “I don’t care what our heading is. Anywhere but land—” She was slightly interrupted by his arm around her shoulder and his exclamation of “Australia”. She rolled her eyes slightly at the former, and gave him a look of surprise at the latter. “What’s in Australia that’s of any use to you?”

“Pardon me here,” Len scooched in between Jack and Lizzy, putting his arm around both parties, “and where exactly would this exotic land of Australia be? Somewhere over by Asia, right? The Americas? I be only familiar with the a bit of Europe ‘n tha Colonies so sorry for seeming a bit foolish,” the man grimaced at Jack once he realized he’d been near him for too long. Taking Lizzy with him, he gently stepped back towards Pepper, “you smell of oats, sir.”
